Indians amongst the top Foreigners purchasing Properties in USA

Amidst the spurn in the amount of foreigners purchasing properties in the USA in 2012-13, India hold the 5th position, states a report by US National Association of Realtors.

Where are the Maximum Purchases Made?

The four major states where Indians hold maximum investments in properties are Connecticut, California, New Jersey and Tennessee.
The four major cities are Los Angeles, Orlando, Dallas, Houston and Chicago.
The Maximum purchases by Indians were made in the suburban areas of USA.

90% of the purchases were made by single families.
Commercial land purchases was only 7%
About $300000 in cash was invested by Indians.
Around 21 % increase in the demand of silver was predicted this year.

Approximately $34.8 Billion worth properties were purchased by foreigners residing outside US.
Whereas, $33.4 billion were invested by migrants or temporary visa holders.
