Goregaon West: A Suburb for All Seasons

When it comes to buying a residential property in Mumbai, the three key drivers for a potential buyer are usually the location, affordability and size (of the flat/apartment). Goregaon (West), a fast developing real estate destination in north Mumbai, is one such area that satisfies most buyers on all three counts.


Overview:

Until the late seventies, Goregaon was nothing more than a cluster of ancient ‘nagars’ like Jawahar Nagar, Unnat Nagar, Bangur Nagar, Mahesh Nagar, Motilal Nagar and Shastri Nagar on the West and others like Jaiprakash Nagar and Pandurang Wadi on the East, that housed a clutch of middle-class and lower middle-class families. New projects and housing complexes were mainly restricted to more ‘upmarket’ destinations between Bandra and Andheri.

Location/Connectivity:

Conveniently located in north Mumbai, between the bustling Jogeshwari and Malad stations on the city’s arterial suburban Western Railway route, Goregaon offers its many residents excellent connectivity to other parts of the city via the Western Express Highway, Link Road that connects suburbs from Bandra to Borivali and the newly opened Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR), that has considerably eased connectivity issues to Mumbai’s far flung Central suburbs.
