Palava City: In a Class of its Own

Call it a City of the future or a Smart City, Palava is all this and a lot more. Derived from the Sanskrit word Pallav – a budding flower, Palava City has been exclusively planned for the citizens of tomorrow and boasts of some of the finest design and engineering innovations, set against a lush green backdrop that showcases some of nature’s finest bounty.

A project by the Mumbai-based Lodha group, one of India’s finest developers with a track record of multiple landmark projects pan-India, Palava City is strategically located on the 6-lane Kalyan-Shil Road at the centre of Navi Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan, a 15-minute drive from major corporate hubs in Navi Mumbai like DAKC, Siemens, MIDC and Capgemini.

For those who travel to Mumbai city on a regular basis, Palava City is less than an hour’s drive from South Mumbai (via the Eastern Freeway), forty minutes from the JNPT port and 20 minutes from the upcoming international airport.

The city is also well-connected with Mumbai by rail via Dombivali (Central line), Vashi (Harbour line) and Nilje (Diva-Panvel line). A proposed monorail service from Shil Junction to Mahape to Kalyan will also pass through Palava, thereby improving connectivity further.

This mega city also has its own bus service to take residents from Palava to Dombivali station. Frequent helicopter services are also available for those who prefer to fly here, from Mahalaxmi and Juhu in Mumbai city to Palava in just 15 minutes.

Slated to become the largest ever private, completely planned development in urban India and Maharashtra’s first-ever mega city, Palava aims to be one of the Top 50 global cities to live in by the year 2020, by which time its sheer size is expected to exceed a massive 5,000 acres.

With an area of approx 2,200 acres already under development as part of the first phase of this mega project, scheduled for completion over the next eight years, Palava is likely to host over 1 lakh residents over the next few years.

A result of careful planning and state-of-the-art design elements, Palava City has anticipated and incorporated virtually all the potential requirements that support a contemporary lifestyle. Not surprisingly then, the city is already equipped with abundant water and power supply, extra wide roads, ultra-luxurious homes with latest amenities, extra vigilant security and civic administration system.

In addition to this the city also offers the latest in terms of social and commercial infrastructure executed by a select list of world-renowned experts, ranging from play schools for kids to global universities, multi-speciality hospitals, a fire station, lush gardens and even a golf course.

Palava also has its own unique Central Business District that spans over 200 acres and includes among other things fully-equipped offices for small businesses and SEZs, global IT & ITES companies, leading financial institutions and leading corporates. Over 2.5 lakh professionals are expected to take advantage of this aspect of the city in terms of finding the right employment and furthering their career aspirations.

On the residential front, Palava City will offer its residents the chance to live a modern lifestyle in completely self-sufficient and well-planned townships. For example, Casa Bella, Mumbai’s first-ever integrated township and Casa Bella Gold.

Twin townships that have already set a new standard in terms of their well-planned layout, spacious apartments, modern amenities and sophisticated luxury set amidst the splendor of pristine green surroundings. Their success can be gauged from the smiles on the faces of the 6,000 satisfied families that have already booked their dream homes here.

The fast upcoming mini-city, Casa Rio, on the other hand is expected to add a new avenue to the success of this mega city by virtue of its spectacular location which also features a serene river and dense green cover, offering its residents the dual advantage of living in a modern urban habitat that still combines all the charming aesthetics of an untouched paradise. Other notable properties presently being developed here include Casa Rio Gold, a 5-lac-square-foot mall with a multiplex, a multispecialty hospital and a school (Pawar Public School).

Importantly, all the state-of-art urban planning at Palava has been done while ensuring a complete commitment to maintaining its natural beauty and a minimum disruption of its many natural resources. In keeping with this promise, the Lodha group has earmarked approx 50 percent of the development here for beautifully landscaped greens that include a network of nature trails, riverside walks, sprawling parks and gardens and preserved woodland.

The project also incorporates several latest features in its commitment to preserve the environment. These include sky gardens to cool the buildings in a natural way, rain water harvesting systems, 100 percent sewage recycling plants, vermin-composting, water-cooled air-conditioning for all office buildings using only 100 percent recycled water, LEED certified commercial buildings and the use of solar power for street lighting purposes among others.

Great cities are those that offer their people great opportunities. With so much to offer, Palava holds the promise of developing into a great city of endless possibilities. A state-of-the-art urban paradise, that will allow its residents multiple opportunities to discover their potential and prosper, a chance to actively participate in the running of their city and more importantly a contemporary lifestyle for them and their future generations.
